Standard Finishes
Main Steel’s finishes include both polished and buffed surfaces for stainless, aluminum, red metals, and specialty metals. In addition to the various commercial finishes we supply, we also have the knowledge and expertise to match or customize almost any other finish available at any of our facilities. We work with you to establish quality standards and then match these in our facilities. Whether wet or dry, coil, sheet or plate, no job is too big or too small for us to handle. This allows you a single source for all of your finish needs.
Standard Finishes
A general-purpose polished bright finish with a visible scratch pattern that prevents mirror reflection. RA Ranges: #3 Finish – max RA 40, # 4 Finish – max RA 25
A general purpose polished finish on an aluminum substrate. The visible grit lines exhibit very little reflectivity.
Most reflective stainless surface. Buffed till most of grit lines are removed. It is used for applications such as mirrors or reflectors. Reflectivity Ranges: # 8 Finish – 580 to 630
A reflective buffed finish that is used primarily in the truck and trailer industry. Reflectivity 780 minimum.
