Custom Finishes
Main Steel’s line of pattern finishes includes a wide variety of designs that can be used in a multitude of different projects. The standard finishes are available in a gauge range from .035 - .135 for stainless and .040 - .190 for aluminum. Standard widths are 48" with some patterns available in 60" and lengths range to 144". Maximum sheet weight is 270 lbs.

Standard Finishes Main Steel's finishes include both polished and buffed surfaces for stainless, aluminum, red metals, and specialty metals. In addition to the various commercial finishes we supply, we also have the knowledge and expertise to match or customize almost any other finish available at any of our facilities. We work with you to establish quality standards and then match these in our facilities coast to coast. Whether wet or dry, coil, sheet or plate, no job is too big or too small for us to handle. This allows you a single source for all of your finish needs.

Pattern Finishes
Pattern finishes are used in a variety of architectural applications including elevators, escalators, metal panel systems, decorative wall coverings, signage systems, and many other home and commercial building applications.

#3 Finish / #4 Finish - A general-purpose polished bright finish with a visible scratch pattern that prevents mirror reflection. RA Ranges: #3 Finish - max RA 40, # 4 Finish - max RA 25
MSP Straight Line Finish - Long and straight scratch pattern produced by eliminating oscillation. Mainly used in architectural applications such as escalators or elevators. RA Range - Max RA 25
MSP Finish #1 - A general purpose Satin-Like finish produced using a non-woven media. This smooth looking finish is used for many architectural and medical market applications.
MSP Finish #14 - An overlapping cross-directional brush finish achieved by using a non woven finishing process. Applications range from architectural to appliance to medical equipment.
Aluminum Brush - A general purpose polished finish on an aluminum substrate. The visible grit lines exhibit very little reflectivity. RA Range - max RA 95
430 Satin Finish - Same as our 304 satin finish but with a 430 substrate. The process produces a beautifully bright finish that is not normally seen on 430. RA Range - max RA 40
#7 Finish / #8 Finish - Most reflective stainless surface. Buffed till most of grit lines are removed. It is used for applications such as mirrors or reflectors. Reflectivity Ranges: #7 Finish - 550 to 600, # 8 Finish - 580 to 630
MAT Finish - A reflective buffed finish that still contains visible grit lines. Used primarily in the truck and trailer industry. Reflectivity - 530 to 580
